• Most Australian businesses expect to grow or maintain their profits in 2013 / 2014, but about a third of larger firms are considering shedding staff.
• A massive 96 per cent of small businesses expect profits to rise or remain at current levels next year, a survey of small to medium size companies shows.
• However, the outlook for larger businesses is not as rosy, with more than a third expecting to shed staff in the new year because of declining sales.
